Nisrin Shahin

Founder & Artist

Bringing people together is what I do!

Nisrin is an accomplished artist with a passion for creativity that she inherited from her father, the multi-faceted artist, Yacoub Shahin. She studied Interior Design and Studio Art at Meredith College, where her artistic skills flourished.

During the pandemic, Nisrin explored various artistic mediums, from pencil and charcoal to acrylics and alcohol inks. In Ramadan 2021, she embarked on a unique project, creating daily paintings featuring the 99 names of Allah, skillfully blending calligraphy with acrylic and adding intricate details with gold and silver.

Her exceptional talent was recognized when her portrait work was featured in a New Jersey magazine. In addition to her own artistic pursuits, Nisrin is an experienced art teacher and an event planner. She recently fulfilled her dream by opening Nisrin’s Art Studio, offering private classes and hosting engaging painting events.

Nisrin is passionate about supporting the local art community, especially Muslim artists. She organizes the monthly Coffee & Arts Meetup, and quarterly Open Mic Nights; which helps artists connect and provides valuable support within the community. Additionally, she hosted the inaugural Performing Arts Talent Show at Nisrin’s Art Studio, aimed at cultivating and expanding a vibrant community of art enthusiasts.

Now, Nisrin’s Art Studio has turned into the Rumman Room!
