Yumna Ali
Creative Director
Yumna Ali is the brains behind the Rumman Room operation and one of the founding members. With a portfolio spanning 15 years, education in Graphic Design, Business, and Management Information Systems, she brings a multidisciplinary approach to speedrunning ideas into reality.
A polyglot and pixel pusher, she works pivot tables with the same precision as her paintbrush. She founded the concept of the Rumman Room with the same duality - as a coworking space for a traditional office work as well as a studio to create and teach with traditional media without stressing about the mess.
During the pandemic lockdown, she fomented her skills and became highly specialized in nonprofit scale up and critical resource management, leading to the development and growth of community programs and organizations valued upwards of $6.5M. Her largest clients include Jannah Circle, Support Life Foundation, and the Counsel on American-Islamic Relations. With roots in St.Louis and networks spanning San Francisco, Dallas, and New York City, she has a rich understanding of communities spanning the American Muslim Diaspora.
Outside of the screen, she paints, bakes, and sews. Her house is full of art supplies she still plans to use even if they’re expired. You’ll find her all over the Triangle working on a hundred different projects for as many clients, but a couple times a month she’ll host workshops or classes for other aspiring designers and hobbyists alike.
